Living an active lifestyle is easy in the high desert surrounding Tucson, with incredible scenery and opportunities to hike, bike, or just relax in the solitude. It’s great when visitors to the area take a moment to enjoy everything the desert has to offer.
Yesterday, we had the awesome opportunity to host a Corporate Group, representing the logging and wood industry, on a MTB ride Adventure. Riders came to visit and attend their conference from throughout the U.S., Canada and Chile. Conference organizers contacted us about 6 months ago, requesting our services to provide bikes and guide a ride.
Getting ready to head out on the ride!
Picking them up from the Westin La Paloma before noon, we transported the group and our bikes north, to the famous 24 Hours at the Old Pueblo MTB Course. After lunch, riders enjoyed a half day of single track riding, soaking in the sun, and making new friends. We led rides for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and everyone had a safe and fun MTB outing. After the ride, each rider received an ice cold towel, and sat comfortably in the shade while enjoying a beverage and sharing their ride experiences. A nice escape from the rigors of attending a conference!
We had them back to their hotel by 5 pm, as promised, in time for evening conference related activities and events.
It was a super pleasure to meet these nice folks, learn a little about their lives, and share the awesome Tucson desert with them on a bike. I’d like to thank Paul and his team at Oro Valley Bikes for their support, and ride leads Stacie, Troy, Alex and Jesus. Special thanks to Dr. Jim, for his good work in helping manage and facilitate this particular Adventure.
